THE title of Lucy Kirkwood’s short but sharply satirical play, set in the world of lads’ and ladies’ glossy mags, stands for Not Safe For Work, referring to Internet content unsuitable for viewing while at work.

The first half sees us in the offices of the raunchy mag Doghouse, whose hyper-critical editor Aiden (a towering performance by Mark Wakeman) bullies and blusters his staff as well as the outraged father of one of his under-age topless models.

New boy Sam (a hysterically naïve Stuart Reilly) is desperate to keep his job, but ends up working for ladies’ mag Electra, in whose offices editor Miranda, all style and no substance, dominates the second half of the play.

Megan Green’s near- monologue is a virtual hymn to superficiality.

Strongly supported by Daisy Dawes’ put-upon secretary Charlotte and Thomas Hall’s laddish Rupert, this is a timely and relevant treatise on today’s increasingly voyeuristic culture.
