WHILE we are perhaps used to the idea of the fairy tale with the happy ending, with Twisted Tales, Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill gives four familiar stories a dark and sinister twist.
The play focuses on a young girl becoming more and more frightened by what she calls 'creepy books' as she finds herself immersed in these stories.
An exacting piece of physical theatre, performed on a small space - a gym mat acting as platform and story book - this was a beautifully choreographed and tightly controlled performance.
The small cast performed multiple roles and worked together perfectly. This was ensemble acting of the highest order.
Music and lighting were used to particularly good effect to add depth and tone to the performance. An audacious and striking piece of theatre, it gripped for its entire 25 minutes.
