THREE generations of Irish women in the one family tell us their story of an extraordinary year in Little Gem, a Green Room Studio production for RAODS At The Plaza next week.
Party girl Amber has recently started dating the wayward Paul. Her compulsive mother Lorraine tries her hand at salsa dancing, and her grandmother Kay “toys” with the meaning of pleasure as she looks after her ill husband.
Becky Mills, Beverley Siddle, and Janet Courtice have each been rehearsing separately with director Janet Féat as the story is told in an extraordinary way - there's no interaction or dialogue shared between the actors.
Elaine Murphy’s first full-length play has swept the boards since its sell out run as part of the 2008 Dublin Fringe Festival. It was the surprise hit of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the first ever Irish production to receive the prestigious Carol Tambor Award.
It runs from Tuesday to Saturday.
Tickets £10 from plazatheatre.com or 01794 512987.
