IT'S theatre to make your skin crawl...

Imagine waking one morning to find your entire body completely unrecognisable. To have your own family repulsed by you; to feel the responsibility of putting food on the table weighing upon your shoulders yet unable to do anything about it, trapped like a bug in your cage of a room.

Gregor Samsa awakes to this living nightmare in Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka's theatrical masterpiece that challenges the audience's perception of dehumanisation and alienation; the absurdity of life and the limits of sympathy.

Join the award-winning Maskers Theatre Company for an evening of intense theatre and the many metamorphoses that take place within a family. Using a stark stage setting and no props, the actors use mime and physical theatre to aid the telling of the dehumanisation of Gregor.

As we see him transform into a giant insect-like creature, we too are asked to confront the divide between body and mind.

The show is being performed at the Maskers Studio Theatre,
