REDLYNCH Players perform We Were There, a Holy Week drama reflecting the experiences of those surrounding Jesus, in the run up to Easter.

It is Good Friday. Jesus has been arrested, tried and is to be crucified. But what about those who were there? Those who saw it happen before them? As each character takes to the stage we are invited to discover their thoughts during such a tumultuous time. Why did Judas and Peter react as they did? What was Pilate thinking when he washed his hands of all responsibility? What disturbed Mrs Pilate so much in her dreams? Was Jesus just an irritation to the likes of Mrs Caiaphas? And the women who loved Jesus – Mary Magdalene and Mary His mother. How did they deal with the suffering they saw before them?

Through compelling drama, music and song We Were There takes us directly to Jesus’ final hours.

See it at St Mary's Church, Fordingbridge on Sunday, Holy Ascension Church, Hyde on Monday, St Laurence's Church, Downton on Tuesday, the Methodist Church Hall in Landford on Thursday and St Mary's Church, Redlynch on Friday.

All are welcome at any of the venues with no ticket required and unreserved seating.

A collection will be taken in aid of The Bridge Youth Project.
