9:48am Friday 6th January 2012 in Curtain Call
By Lorelei Reddin, Entertainments Editor
THE King, guardian to his granddaughter Princess Aurora, is determined she should marry a suitable member of the aristocracy and has offered a huge dowry to any man who can show his worth.
The evil Blackheart the Horrible hears of this and hatches a dastardly plot to capture the Princess, force her to marry him and claim the dowry for himself.
Meanwhile Dame Baguette’s son Rollo, disguised as the Marquis of Carabas, has fallen in love with Aurora and wants to marry her but first he must rescue her from Blackheart’s clutches and prove his worth to the King.
A full scale slapstick scene from the village bakers, a generous dose of magic from the good Fairy Nuff and a host of memorable songs all combine to make Dalian Players pantomime Puss in Boots a great family show.
Can Blackheart’s evil plot be thwarted, can Princess Aurora be rescued in time and will Rollo finally get his bride?
The show runs at Woolston Methodist Hall from Wednesday to Saturday.
