BREAKING The Silence continues at The Chesil theatre until tomorrow.
Martin Humphrey and Rachel O’Neill play husband and wife, Nikolai and Eugenia Pesiakoff, who are forced to flee their elegant home with their maid Polya (Hazel Round) and son Sasha (played by newcomer Max Homan) to live in a dilapidated railway carriage.
Spanning 1920 – 1924, the play covers a key period in post-revolutionary Russian history.
The family is forced to reassess itself as relationships break and reform under the stresses caused by their new surroundings and what is expected of them.

n STEPHEN Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George is being performed by Southampton University’s Showstoppers next week.
In nineteenth-century France, Georges struggles with his art and his personal life. As George is completely engrossed in his artwork and not with his pregnant girlfriend, Dot, she leaves him to find a more supportive man. Meanwhile, Georges continues on with life, repainting anything he finds unpleasant.
In Act Two, the musical takes places in America in 1984. Now, Georges’ great-grandson, George, is struggling to find inspiration in his artwork. He is helped when the spirit of Dot returns with some wise words.
The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday.

n SUMMER is coming early to Winchester with the half-term musical extravaganza Summer Holiday by Encore Youth Theatre.
Retaining all the magic of the original 1963 film score which featured Cliff Richard, Laurie Peters and the Shadows, the iconic double-decker red London bus will once again be taking you on a toe-tapping road trip with hits including, Living Doll, Do You Wanna Dance?, The Young Ones, Bachelor Boy and of course the title song.

n WATERSIDE Theatre Company is off to Peking with Aladdin, a traditional pantomime with goodies and baddies, a lamp with a genie and a flying carpet.
There are all the people you would expect to meet – Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, Wishee Washee and Widow Twanky and the evil Abanazar .
There are also some new characters – Hi and Lo, Abanazar’s henchmen, and PCs 27 and 39, the local law enforcement.
And of course there’s the Slave of the Ring!
Can Aladdin and Jasmine find true happiness?
Can evil Abanazar achieve world domination?

n POULNER Players panto Calamity Jane follows the adventures of, a Lancashire lass who has travelled to Silver Creek, Texas to find her long lost brother. Unfortunately he is no more, due to an accident with a brewery wagon, though he didn’t feel a thing!
However, his son, Calamity’s nephew The Milky Bar Kid & his zany friends make her feel welcome and we follow her story as she is mistakenly kidnapped by some hapless bandits and faces the Indian renegade warrior, Geronimo.There are plenty of laughs and mayhem with some well known songs from Broadway and Hollywood musicals. A cast of 30 includes both well known and new faces and ranges in age from ten to 80!
