INSPIRED by the real-life Chicken Ranch, the musical calls for a large multi-talented cast. The company delivered on all levels, with director Adam Myers even displaying his own versatility with an hilarious performance as The Governor! Caryn Morant was a very impressive ‘Madam’ Mona Stangley; her acting was of the highest order with a voice to match. Opposite her, Andrew Rawstron-Brake put in a very strong performance as The Sheriff and there was particularly fine vocal-support from Chinonye Iroegbulem (Jewel) and Kerry Butcher (Angel). Emma James was convincing as nervous newcomer Shy and the ensemble was very ably led by choreographer Dannie Spencer, with the girls dressed to thrill and the boys providing eye-candy for the ladies in the capacity audience. Alex Clements and his five-piece band (not including the three live chickens!) were note-perfect and this great show was only marred by occasionally mistimed lighting cues. A Chicken Supreme indeed!
