IT’s a family-friendly pantomime that promises blood, guts, gore and a lot more.

Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium is set to stage Dr Death and the Medi-Evil Medicine Show tomorrow, starting at 6.30pm.

Starring TV’s Simon Watt as the timetravelling Doctor Death, the show is billed as a “historically and scientifically accurate panto for children and other childish people”.

Sneezes, wheezes, sickness and diseases are never welcome but in the past, some of the treatments could be worse than the symptoms. Organisers promise an entertaining and educational evening with lots of silly costumes, stage props and audience participation.

The show was created by talented Mr Watt who presents the awardwinning Channel 4 series Inside Nature’s Giants.

He also tours schools, colleges and festivals performing shows with his theatre company, Ready, Steady, Science.

Dr Jenny Shipway, head of planetarium, said the pantomime kicked off a new series of monthly family science shows at the centre in Morn Hill.
