IT’S a story about a cruise ship heading for Southampton...

How apt that Cole Porter’s musical comedy Anything Goes will sail into the Mayflower Theatre to set anchor from March 30-April 4.

Hopping on board will be soap star Hugh Sachs, one of the many eccentric characters from the ITV hit comedy Benidorm.

Best known as the highly emotional and easily irritated Gavin Ramsbottom, Hugh will be swapping his hotel Solana setting for life on the high seas as Moonface Martin.

His other TV credits include Housewife 49 and The Catherine Tate Show. His theatre credits include Privates on Parade and Peter Pan.

Leading the cast of 26 will be Debbie Kurup as Reno Sweeney and Matt Rawle as Billy Crocker.

They are joined by Jane Wymark as Evangeline Harcourt with Simon Rouse as Elisha Whitney and Zoë Rainey as Hope Harcourt.

The company also includes Michelle Andrews, Adam Dutton, Anouska Eaton, Jack Evans, Bob Harms, Victoria Hinde, Lauren Jade, Rebecca Jayne-Davies, Joanna Lee Martin, Nick Len, Michael Lin, Dylan Mason, Stephen Matthews, Ryan Pidgen, Adam Rhys-Charles, Rohan Richards, Andy Yau and Alex Young.

Debbie Kurup was most recently seen as Nicki in the West End hit musical The Bodyguard, a role for which she was nominated for an Olivier Award. The Bodyguard touring production will debut at The Mayflower on February 12 starring Alexandra Burke. Debbie’s other West End credits include Mimi in Rent, Velma in Chicago and Sister Act.
