THEY have been performing pantomimes for more than 40 years – now Baddesley Barnstormers are taking to the stage at nearby Chilworth Village Hall with the children’s favourite Hansel and Gretel.

The group, which was formed in 1972, will be doing its take on Hansel and Gretel on Friday, February 27, at 8pm and again the next day at 3pm and 8pm.

The production has been written by Rachel Chadwick, who will direct the live shows.

Local author Dennis Bryant wrote and directed Baddesley Barnstormers’ first ever pantomime Cinderella in 1974.

John Holloway, from Baddesley Barnstormers, said: “We are a small band of thespians and any new members would be most welcome and we look forward to seeing people at our forthcoming production.”

Tickets for Hansel and Gretel cost £7 per adult and £3 per child. They are available from the HabiStore at Botley Road in North Baddesley, and Greetings and Things at Seymour Parade in the village.

People can also get them via Baddesley Barnstormers’ website.
