USUALLY she can be spotted suited and booted at council meetings but for three days next month she will turn her mind to treasure for her part in a village pantomime.
Winchester city councillor Jan Warwick, pictured, is set to play a villainous pirate in Pirates of the Isle of Wight, the tale of a waterlogged village under siege.
Hursley villagers are busy preparing the props and costumes ahead of the shows, which run from February 5-7.
The pantomime follows the compromising situations which arise following the invasion of Isle of Wight pirates, who have one thing on their minds – treasure!
It’s billed to have children and adults alike laughing in the aisles.
Michael Arthur and David Glynn have worked together to develop the performers’ skills and confidence, and pupils from John Keble and Kings’ schools will join the cast.
Phil Pratt will manage the stage and props, with Karen Morgan in the make-up department, Page McKinnon managing front of house, Louise Pratt organising the Saturday night supper, and Ian Fraser building the set.
Pirates of the Isle of Wight opens on Thursday, February 5, at 7.30pm, with performances on Friday, February 6, at 8pm, and Saturday, February 7, at 2pm and 7pm.
The Saturday night performance has already sold out.
It will be followed by a supper for the 140 guests.
Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for children and concessions.
There is a group ticket for four adults, costing £20, available for the February 5 performance.
