OUR House, bursting with hits from chart-toppers Madness, is the latest theatrical production at Berry Theatre next week.

The hits of Madness – Our House, Baggy Trousers, My Girl, Embarrassment, Driving in My Car, Wings of a Dove, Night Boat to Cairo and It Must Be Love – are some of the best-loved pop songs of all time.

Through their music and the story written by Tim Firth comes a touching tale of life and love, heartbreak and comedy, right and wrong.

The story follows a dual storyline about Joe Casey, set in London’s Camden Town in the mid-1980s.

Trying to impress Sarah, the girl of his dreams, Joe breaks into a building development.

But things take a turn for the worse as the police turn up. Joe’s life splits into two – the good Joe who stays and gives himself up and bad Joe who flees and leaves Sarah to run from the police.

Madness were one of the most popular bands of the 1980a and continue to have a huge following.

Tim Firth’s work includes the record-breaking Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots, Preston Front and Neville’s Island.

In 2003 Our House won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical Our House is at Berry Theatre, Hedge End, from April 1-4.
