THE classic love story of two teenagers from rival families falling in love is set for a re-imagining as a critically-acclaimed company makes a stop in Winchester.
Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory will shape Romeo and Juliet for a contemporary audience with guest director Polina Kalinina at the helm.
Fast-paced and full of teenage angst this production is staged around and on a revolving roundabout, visually affirming the frenetic sequence of events that evolves as the play reaches its dark conclusion.
With visceral fight sequences and poetic soliloquies it is billed to be fresh entertainment for the eyes and ears.
This not-to-be-missed production of Romeo and Juliet is at Theatre Royal Winchester on June 2-6.
Tickets cost £23, concessions £20.50 while friends of the theatre pay£20.
