A HILARIOUS family pantomime with green screen technology, pink roller skates, and red hot songs...colourful panto is back at Romsey's Plaza Theatre from Thursday!

RAODS is pushing the boundaries of pantomime in all directions with its exciting new production of Jack and the Beanstalk that runs until the end of the month.

The creative technicians behind the scenes have used Hollywood-style green screen technology to create some truly larger-than-life special effects that have never been seen at the Plaza before. Other innovations include laser lighting, a scarily villainous giant’s wife hurtling across the stage on pink roller skates, and a selection of modern music that will rock the Plaza!

Director Georgette Ellison said:“I wanted to create a show that would appeal to the young people of Romsey, while still remaining true to the most important traditions of family pantomime. So, although we’re using video effects and some really funky new music, we’ve also got all the familiar ingredients that audiences know and love, including a slapstick baking scene, a ballet-dancing pantomime cow, and plenty of opportunities for audience interaction – oh yes we have!”.

And in case the older generation of Romsey feel left out, the run kicks off with a special one-off over-eighteens-only version of the show on Thursday (January 14) when the cast have free rein to be a little ruder than in the remaining performances!

Most performances have already almost sold out, so book early to ensure you don’t miss out on a treat!

Tickets £12 (family ticket £40) from www.plazatheatre.com or from the Romsey TIC on 01794 512987.
