THE 1960s were undoubtedly one of the most important decades of the 20th century.

This innovative era had a profound impact on society with huge changes in music, fashion and culture which left an indelible mark still evident today.

Much of the 60's creative talent was British and the Bootleg 60s Sight and Sound show will celebrate this at the Regent in Christchurch on Wednesday 14 September 7.30pm. This will be the band’s fifth visit to the Regent and they are back by popular demand.

Fronted by The Overtures, who Sir Elton John hailed as “the best band of their kind in the world”, the show will bring memories flooding back as they play the biggest and best hits by such 60s superstars as: The Beatles, The Doors, The Monkees, The Yarbirds, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, The Kinks, The Byrds, The Animals, Simon & Garfunkle and The Beach Boys.

The show is back dropped by some stunning archive visual footage of the Swinging 60s featuring the fashion, style and personalities of the era.

The Overtures will add to the fun with a series of period costumes that take in everything from the Mod scene to the dedicated followers of fashion in Carnaby Street. Why not dust off those crushed velvet flares, the Chelsea boots and the satin ruffle shirt and join in the fun?

The Overtures are widely recognised as one of the finest 60s tribute acts in the business. They were the main act at Sir Elton John’s wedding and were his support band at the O2 Arena for the 2008 New Year’s Eve party. They have also performed by invitation for Sir Paul McCartney, Lulu, The Who’s Kenny Jones and perhaps most impressively of all, for Queen Elizabeth II at a Buckingham Palace Christmas Party!
