MISTAKEN identities, plot twists, heartbreak, happiness and a wealth of memorable tunes, the musical Crazy For You will embark on a national tour, taking in Southampton next year.

Following rave reviews and a successful season at the Watermill Theatre, the production will star Tom Chambers as Bobby and visit Mayflower Theatre in November 2017.

High energy, high kicking and gloriously glamorous, the feel-good musical has a fabulous score from the Gershwin brothers’ songbook. I Got Rhythm, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Nice Work If You Can Get It and Embraceable You all feature in this exhilarating celebration of the great Broadway musicals.

The multi-award winning, romantic comedy, filled with great dance numbers, charts the troubled love story of Bobby, son of a wealthy New York banking family and frustrated Broadway hoofer, and Polly, daughter of the proprietor of a failing theatre in Deadrock, Nevada.

Sent to close the theatre down, Bobby falls for Polly and, in the guise of a Hungarian impresario, decides to save the theatre by putting on a show.

Tom Chambers created the role of Jerry Travers in the West End musical Top Hat, for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His other stage credits include a recent UK tour of Private Lives and White Christmas in the West End.

Tom’s TV credits include the BBC dramas Holby City and Waterloo Road. He also won the sixth season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.
