MORE than 300 fantastic performers from across the city are coming together for an entertaining evening of uplifting and inspirational music.
The inaugural Southampton Celebration Proms, a fundraising evening for Mayflower’s Youth Theatre Programme Engage, takes place at the theatre on January 29.
Performances range from school and community groups to soprano solos and drumming bands with Showcase Philharmagic Orchestra leading the concert. Southampton Celebration Proms also involves school groups, rocks choirs and a special appearance by Mayflower Engage performers themselves.
Michael Ockwell, Chief Executive of Mayflower Theatre said: “The evening promises to be a night to remember with something for everyone, with a range of local schools and community groups getting involved. I am delighted that members of our Mayflower Musical Youth Theatre and Summer Youth Projects will be performing on the night, showcasing a few of the diverse education opportunities we offer to the local community.”
ReesLeisure, in collaboration with Showcase Performance Company, have created an impressive set list to be performed by a range of Southampton based societies. Song choices include; Robbie Williams, Queen, Coldplay and a traditional ‘Last Night of the Proms’ section.
