VOLUNTEERS are being sought for an ambitious project to chart the illustrious history of Mayflower Theatre.

A volunteer coffee morning will be held at the theatre tomorrow morning for My Story, a Heritage Lottery funded project to create a living story, including a new interactive digitised archive, filmed interviews and displays in the theatre rather than a simple archive.

A group of 30 young people have already joined the project to conduct filmed interviews with anyone with special memories of the theatre as the Mayflower or in its previous guises.

Organisers are now looking for help with organising and cataloguing the existing archive material, much of which has been donated by theatre-goers.

They will help bring to life the stories of anybody who has visited the theatre in its 89 year history.

Anyone interested is asked to drop in to find out more over coffee and cake and a look at the archive material between 9.30am and 11.30am tomorrow.
