CHARLES Dickens' Great Expectations will be staged at the Berry Theatre, Hedge End, Southampton from Tuesday April 4 - Saturday April 8.

An accidental meeting that changes a young man's life...the unquenchable desire for money and consequences of getting into debt...the lust for status and love at all stations in life... and the ability of love to change the course of a lifetime.

Six actors play over 30 different characters in Gale Childs Daly’s cleverly condensed Dickens' novel. This tale of love, loss, poverty, money, loyalty and power is packed with comedy, drama, pathos, and wit that makes it accessible for all. It promises to be a ' must see' for students of Dickens.

Great Expectations is one of Dickens’ most well known novels, full of memorable characters. The main character, Pip, meets an eccentric haggard Miss Havisham, who has been jilted at the altar years ago and lives in the ruin of her wedding feast, surrounded by decaying food and still wearing her wedding dress. He falls in love with Miss Havisham’s adopted daughter Estella, and longs to become a gentleman in order to win her over and better himself.
