THE Olivier Award nominated West End hit production of Jacqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather will be this year’s Christmas treat at Nuffield’s Campus theatre.

From the best-selling children’s author Jacqueline Wilson, it brings to life on stage the adventures of plucky Hetty Feather with beautiful storytelling, spectacular circus skills, original songs and live music.

Hetty Feather is set in Victorian London and tells the story of an orphan, born in 1876 who is left by her mother at the Foundling Hospital for abandoned children. This strict Victorian institution can’t contain Hetty and she sets off on daring adventures including running away to the circus. Huge-hearted and headstrong, she’s a great heroine, searching for her true home and the identity of her real mother.

The critically acclaimed 2016 touring company return. Hetty Feather is played by Pheobe Thomas from BBC’s Holby City and directed by Sally Cookson (Stick Man and We’re Going On A Bear Hunt.)

Sam Hodges, Director at Nuffield Southampton Theatres, said: “Our family audiences have high expectations. This production, with its fabulous original songs, live music, circus skills and aerial artistry, promises not to disappoint. “

Jacqueline Wilson, author of Hetty Feather, added: “I’ve written over 100 books and Hetty Feather is my number one favourite. The stage version is simply magical. It’s a delight for me to see audiences of all ages loving the show.”
