YOUNG theatre fans can sleep on what they’ve learnt during two drama workshops with a difference.

Inspired by Disney classics from The Little Mermaid to The Jungle Book, children at the first workshop, taking place at Botley Market Hall on Wednesday, August 9, will create a showcase of songs and scenes that they will perform during a sleepover.

They will also take part in drama games at the sleepover, tuck into a fish-and-chip supper, and watch a film to wind down before bedtime.

A second drama workshop and sleepover, this time inspired by the musical Annie, will take place at Hamble Village Memorial Hall on Wednesday, August 30.

Aimed at children aged from seven to 16, the workshops will run from 9am, while the sleepovers run from 7pm. Each combined workshop and sleepover event costs £55, and pick-up is by 10am the following day. The sleepovers can be booked separately, for £30 each.

Both events are being run by Acting UP, a not-for-profit organisation that provides affordable drama classes for children across Southampton and the surrounding areas.
