FOLLOWING a hugely successful 2016 Australian and UK tour, Frantic Assembly and State Theatre Company South Australia’s critically acclaimed West End hit Things I Know to Be True comes to Nuffield Southampton Theatres next week.

As beautifully touching as it is funny and bold, Things I Know to Be True tells the story of a family and marriage through the eyes of four grown siblings struggling to define themselves beyond their parents’ love and expectations.

It is a complex and intense study of the mechanics of a family that is both poetic and brutally frank, featuring Frantic Assembly’s celebrated physicality, co-directed by Frantic Assembly’s Tony and Oliver Award nominated Artistic Director Scott Graham and State Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Geordie Brookman.

Renowned playwright Andrew Bovell (When the Rain Stops Falling, Speaking in Tongues) said, “The only reason to write a play is for it to reach an audience and for it to mean something to them when it does. I am thrilled that UK audiences will have another chance to see this wonderful production.”

Original UK cast members Matthew Barker and Kirsty Oswald reprise their roles as Mark and Rosie, respectively. They will be joined by Cate Hamer as Fran, Seline Hizli as Pip, Arthur Wilson as Ben and Ewan Stewart as Bob.

With credits across stage and screen from the past 37 years, John is best known for his work on television, including the roles of Billy Corkhill in Brookside and Ronnie Hale in Emmerdale. He has also featured in dramatisations for BBC Radio 4 and published an autobiography titled You Never Said Goodbye.

Things I Know To Be True runs from Tuesday to Saturday. Tickets are available from 023 8067 1771 or online at nstheatres.co.uk
