TUNEFUL nuns on the run will make their debut in Eastleigh tonight.

Eastleigh Operatic and Musical Society will be bringing their production of the celebrated musical Sister Act to the stage at The Point each evening until Saturday when a matinee of the show will also take place.

The brilliant West End and Broadway smash hit, which starred Alexandra Burke during its last Mayflower stint, tells the story of nightclub singer Deloris Van Cartier who witnesses her mobster beau, Curtis, commit murder and is relocated by the police for her own protection.

Hidden in the clever guise of a nun in a convent, Deloris proceeds to upend the quiet lives of the resident sisters. She is assigned to take over the convent’s choir, an ensemble that she soon turns into a vibrant and soulful act that gains widespread attention and blows her cover. The chase is then on.

The show is full of song and dance, tugs at the heartstrings and makes you laugh out loud.
