AFTER a sell-out debut show in 2010 with Invaders of the Boogie Box at Itchen College, a street dance school from Southampton is set to smash the stage this weekend.
Street Beatz Dance Academy, who train across the city, has recently performed in The Marlands Shopping Centre and at West End Carnival.
Today and tomorrow you can catch the dancers lighting up The Nuffield theatre with their version of Lewis Caroll’s classic tale.
Alice will be street dance’s take on Alice in Wonderland with an army of Alice’s, a potty mad hatter and break-dancing bunnies.
More than 100 local children have been in training since January for what is sure to be the street show of the summer.
Principal Jessica Cripps says: “Our debut show gave us a chance to show everyone what we do. Alice will show everyone who we are – a close-knit community of street dancers who have a passion to perform.”
The school has made all its own sets, choreography and costumes and has been working tirelessly to fundraise for the show.
Tickets are £12.50 and can be purchased from The Nuffield box office.
