SHOWS like these are perennial favourites, giving an opportunity for all company-members to strut their stuff; the cast-list here contained 49 singers and dancers!
Kicking-off with a smooth Top Hat segment, a Jersey Boys medley followed, before Amy Devine’s heartfelt With You, from Ghost, slowed things down.
Hayley Milton matched her for quality with a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone from Carousel before Lauren Kempton’s spine-tingling Bodyguard tear-jerker I Will Always Love You.
A tremendous full-company rendition of Star Maker from Fame ended the first half.
Kim Harvey previewing Legally Blonde was a second-half highlight but my favourite was Jane Pegler’s understated Children Will Listen, from Into The Woods.
Matt Sackman and Danny Owen featured prominently but although compere Alan Jenkins name-checked some soloists, several significant others were denied a mention.
Jane Pegler, Kimberley Joyce, Helen Stoddart and Kate Walsh shared director/choreographer credits and Alan Pring’s soundtrack for the fifteen-show set-list was faultless.
