‘SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS’

Pocket Panto

Hanger Farm Arts Centre

HILARIOUS from start to finish, this was a family pantomime that ticked all the usual seasonal boxes. Kerry Butcher was at her very best here, setting the scene as the evil Wicked Queen, plotting to rid the kingdom of her sister, Snow White, the equally engaging Eve Lethbridge. The Wicked Queen enlisted the splendid double-act of Watt (Richard Tatnall) and Dunno (Steven Lilly) to dump her sister in the woods so she could woo Prince Harry (the assured Ella Williams). David Tatnall made a larger than life Nurse Nellie Nitwitt, leading all the frivolities in his usual comic style, but Matt Sturgeon’s performance possibly topped them all. Playing all Seven Dwarfs and alternating regional accents, wigs, hats and beards to suit each character each time he appeared The Tatnall brothers directed, Sue Tatnall had the costumes sorted, Martin Paterson and Perri Seymour the music and Mark Ponsford contributed witty original lyrics.
