A delight from start to finish – El Circo De La Sombra was a real gem.
As the audience filtered into the auditorium the performers were already on stage doing slapstick routines, making ready for the show.
Throughout the performance they were building the set, putting the finishing touches in place and all the while climbing, tumbling and executing acrobatic endeavours that brought a chorus of oohs and ‘ahs from the sell-out audience.
The set was enchanting, evoking an old travelling circus show and the performers who hail from Italy, France and Spain, were simply spellbinding.
Highlights of the show had to be the incredible sight of one of the acrobats in a giant hamster’s wheel contraption, spinning around the tiny Nuffield stage.
A perfect show for all the family to enjoy – in recreating the past they have brought the circus right up to date and made it a visual feast for the eye.
