A Night at The Movies, Roynon Dance, The Nuffield

AN absolute delight from start to finish. That was just one of a whole host of comments coming from the auditorium at The Nuffield Theatre last weekend. 276 students aged from three to 73 of Roynon Dance in Woolston entertained sell out shows of their biannual production A Night At The Movies. The movie-themed spectacular, performed in aid of the Piam Brown Ward of Southampton General Hospital wowed the auditorium with homages to movies as diverse as Singin’ In The Rain to Inception.

There were a huge variety of dance styles performed from ballet to street jazz, meaning that there was something for everyone.

Principal Nicky Vincent said ‘I am so proud of how professional every single cast member has been and we have raised around £4,000 for a very worthy cause which is fantastic.’ The dance school thoroughly impressed the charity they raised funds for.

Jane Buchanan from Piam Brown said ‘we were all so impressed with the choreography across three performances and the teachers are an inspiration to their pupils.’ The school will now be working towards their next show which will take place in 2014.
