WARHORSE meets The Railway Children as the iconic book Black Beauty is adapted for the stage for the first time.

A spectacular open-air production of Anna Sewell’s novel will be performed at Avington Park near Winchester tomorrow and Sunday.

The production concentrates on the core elements of the story, following Beauty’s close relationship with the Gordon family and, in particular, with Flora Gordon. Narrated by Black Beauty, the play covers his idyllic early life, through to his darkest days as a brutally treated London cab horse.

H STP Musicals return to their traditional summer slot at Fareham ’s Ferneham Hall next week.

On February 3, 1959, the man who changed the face of popular music was killed in a plane crash, aged 22.

Now, Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story tells of the three years in which he became the world’s top recording artist with a show that features more than 20 of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits including Peggy Sue, That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Everyday, Rave On, Maybe Baby and Raining In My Heart.

The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday.

H SATURDAY Storytime at The Point tomorrow features storytelling actors who delight children and adults of all ages with their entertaining and engaging tales.

This month’s session invites audiences to come and shelter from the Great British Summer, and discover how different communities live within their everchanging seasons.

Education company Commotion Dance will lead you into a world of fun, movement and play.
