I am PCSO Charlie Staples 15438 and I have been working on the Freemantle and Regents Park beat in Shirley, for nearly eighteen months now, I have been working hard to reduce street drinking and engage with the local schools. I thoroughly enjoy working in the area and am lucky to meet so many different people every day. It is a very diverse area with varied issues to tackle. Sergeant Adams and his team of officers and PCSO's are working with the community to tackle quality of life issues, and crack down on persistent offenders within the Central Shirley area.

We work with the community through regular Priority Setting Meetings, where the local issues and concerns are raised, and these become priorities for your local officers to tackle. We also work with other agencies such as Southampton City Council to reduce offending and anti-social behaviour.

This site will give you a brief overview of our current priorities, and when the next public meetings are, as well as what we are doing to tackle offending in your area.

    Where: Tucks Cafe, Shirley High Street, Shirley, Southampton, Hampshire,

    PCSO Mike George and PCSO Lorraine Underwood will be in Tucks Cafe, Shirley High Street on Tuesday 5th August 2014 from 09.00am - 10.00am.

    If you are interested in receiving crime prevention advice, talking to the police about any concerns you may have about the area in which you live, have any information to pass onto the Police or just fancy a coffee and a chat then please feel free to come along.

  • Public Community Event

    When: 7th August 2014, 8.00am

    Where: Sports Centre, Thornhill Road, Shirley, Southampton, Hampshire,

    PCSO 14856 Mike George, PCSO 15456 Paul Hills and PCSO 15087 Kenny Fong will be attending a youth (10-18 yrs) 5-a-side Football Tournament for the 'Hampshire Community Cup'. This will be held at the Sports Centre in Lordshill.

  • Public Community Event

    When: 7th August 2014, 11.00am

    Where: St James Park, Church Street, Southampton, Hampshire,

    PCSOs will be down at St James Park on Thursday 7th August from 11am to 3pm along with Dogs Trust offering FREE micro chipping for all dogs. Come along and get all your dogs chipped and possible pick up a couple of treats too. This is a fantastic opportunity for all dog owners to meet a local PCSO and other dog walker's around the area.
    This event is free to everyone.

  • Public Neighbourhood Meeting

    When: 7th August 2014, 6.00pm

    Where: Freemantle Community Centre, Randolph Street, Shirley, Southampton, Hampshire,

    Police & EU Welcome attend the monthly Polish Beat Surgery at Freemantle Community Centre, Shirley.

    EU Welcome provides help & support to migrants in the Southampton area from EU and other European countries.This includes people who have housing difficulties, people who face possible homelessness, as well as support to victims of domestic violence helping them to access available services.

    There are also Polish interpreters to help with any local issues that you might have to tell Police.
