Hedge End North neighbourhood policing team

Sgt Chrissie Wall

Chrissie started her career at Winchester working on the response team as well as the neighbourhood team. She was promoted in 2005 to Farnborough as a patrol sergeant before moving to the Southern Support and Training Centre in Netley as Initial Training Sergeant for the Force. Chrissie joined the team in 2013 and is the neighbourhood sergeant for Hedge End, West End and Botley.

PC Carl Osman

I have been a serving police officer with Hampshire Constabulary since 2000. I have held many roles and responsibility's and joined the safer neighbourhood team at Hedge End in March 2014 after serving 10 years at Southampton central and Shirley. This is a unique and challenging role one which I seek to embrace and use all my past skills and knowledge to deliver a service for the area which I police.

PC Jason Steel

As Community Beat officer for West End (North and South) I am part of a team that includes my two Police Community Support Officer colleagues, Mica and Hannah. We fulfil a number or roles with the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour being at the core of everything we do. I have been a Beat officer for all of my 15 years of service and continue to engage with the local residents and work with our partner agencies to make West End a safer and better place to live and work.

I work closely with the Parish Council and HEWEB to deliver a service that reduces crime and Anti-Social Behaviour in our community. I put my contacts in the community to good use and as a tactical cyclist I enjoy using the tools that are provided to me to fulfil my duty. I have been a LAGLO (Lesbian and Gay Liason Officer) for 10 years and find that I am able to help individuals or families in our community with more specific needs. I have strong links with the Kings Community Church and the Street Pastors that Patrol Hedge End, West End and Botley on a Friday night, they provide an invaluable service. Much of what I do is about helping the most vulnerable, which might be an elderly person struggling to live independently or the the victim of domestic abuse, both of these circumstances need careful management and resilience to ensure that our partner agencies step in when required.

Using new tools to engage with the public such as Twitter and Hampshire Alerts has made communicating with large numbers of people easier but there is no substitute for the face to face work that we do with patrolling, Parish meetings and the Beat Surgeries at ASDA. Working with HEWEB we are able to encourage sporting engagement and responsible behaviour amongst the local youth population which brings its own rewards. Speed enforcement is something that we are often called on do do, time and resources permitting we will commit to a number of key areas but also encourage local residents to sign up and join Community Speedwatch

I thoroughly enjoy my work as a Community Beat Officer and hope to continue for many years to come.

PC Robin Tebb

A neighbourhood police officer for Hedge End. I have over 25 years experience in policing in numerous roles and locations in Hampshire. I believe neighbourhood policing is essential to maintain community contact and offer personal service in these modern changing times.

PC Chris Lewis

I am community beat officer for Grange Park and Botley areas of Eastleigh district. I have served within the Eastleigh district for a total of 6 years, 3 years on response and patrol and 3 years as a beat officer. I have also previously worked in various areas within Hampshire, including Bitterne and Southampton central.

My focus is to deliver the best service possible by reducing and disrupting crime, harm and anti social behaviour in the local area by dealing robustly with any repeat offenders. I believe in old fashioned policing principles and have no hesitations in administering a good old fashioned telling off. I like high visible policing and engaging with the community, I'm paid to be nosey. Please feel free to stop me in the street for a chat, don't be scared, I do like to talk a lot!

About this neighbourhood

The parishes of Hedge End, West End and Botley make up the Hedge End North area. In recent years all three parishes have come together along with local community groups, including Kings Community Church, to provide a solid range of diversionary activities for young people to steer them away from anti-social behaviour. This has proved to be a great success and you related ASB has reduced as a result.

The area has many primary schools which feed into the largest secondary school in Hampshire, Wildern School. We have good relationships with all of our schools and run a Junior PCSO programme in which young people learn how to be responsible members of the public and how they can become a real PCSO!

The force responsible for policing and crime prevention in this area is Hampshire Constabulary.
