Adam Hammill again underlined his fantastic potential with a second half hat-trick as Saints crushed Svarstad 12-0 last night.
Hammill, one of two Saints outfield players to play the full 90 minutes, fired his three goals in the space of 33 minutes and Marek Saganowski added three more inside 20 second half minutes.
Two goals from Grzegorz Rasiak and one each from Mario Licka, David McGoldrick, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Andrew Surman completed the dozen.
You could almost feel the excitement around the Saints staff at the prospect of Hammill lining up week in week out for the club next season.
The 19-year-old, signed on a season long loan at Liverpool, showed his versatility by playing the first half on the right of midfield and the second on the left and was equally effective in both positions.
His natural ability to play wide on either side meant he was able to cut in or go on the outside and take on the full back on the left or the right and, despite having said when he joined he needs to work on his goalscoring, there was little evidence of any problems last night.
Saints boss George Burley said: "Adam's a boy that's got ability.
"Liverpool let us have him for a season to progress his career and so far he looks very talented.
"He wants to listen, he's hungry to do well and he can score goals as he showed.
"I'm pleased to get him to give us a little bit extra".
Hammill wasn't the only man to hit a treble with Polish striker Saganowski also scoring three - all in the space of 20 minutes.
But Burley still feels Saganowski needs to get fitter before the start of the season.
"He still doesn't look the sharpest to me at the moment," he said.
"He's come back having missed a bit of training during the summer and there's still a bit of work to be done.
"We have five cracking strikers to choose from".
Burley also gave run-outs to trialists Tamas Vasko and Gregory Vignal.
Vasko's league season in Bulgaria starts on Saturday so he will return home shortly while Saints mull over whether to make a move for him but Vignal will play tomorrow night.
"He plays a league game on Saturday so he's going back tomorrow," said Burley of Vasko.
"Gregory Vignal will go back on Thursday and that will give us another chance to see him tomorrow".
Burley is still looking to strengthen his squad but insisted nothing was happening at the moment.
He did, however, deny reports that Saints had made a bid for Sam Sodje.

Pompey/Newcastle relegted - Westbrom promoted. Saints/Wolves play off for final spot = Pompey down Saints up! how glorious would that be

Does anyone know if the useless lump that is Jermaine Wright played last night, or have we finally released him?
Hammill looks the nuts! Just what we need!

I was at the game and Saints played well, but let\'s not get too carried away by the result. I have lived here for 25 years and have never heard of Svarstad. They are certainly not on the football map, or for that matter any other map, in Norway. They had to get extra players from other neighbouring teams to fill up the squad. Still it was great evening and a fantastic chance to see the team play over here. I\'m looking forward to the Kvik Halden game. They are a slightly better team and should give Saints more of a match. Only hope the goals will come just as easy when the Championship starts.

I'd like to take this moment to say, spare a thought for poor old harry and the blue few today. My particular thought is, 'hope he gets life in camp x-ray'. If you type 'define: karma' into google you get one definition: "the idea that the good and evil a person does will return either in this life or in a later one" I.e. he came up the road, screwed us over, shrug of the shoulders, 'oh well tried my best' back down the road again. For years to come if you type define: karma and you'll get a picture of twitchy old 'arry, probably in an orange jump suit. It's a beautiful day!

...ok hang on, i'be googled them and found what league they are in. The league goes like this : Premier Div One Div two Div three Premier has 14 teams Div 1 has a further 14 teams Div 2 is plit into 4 groups each of 14 teams - 56 teams Div 3 is then made up of 21 regions each containing 12 teams - 252 teams in total, Svarstad fall under one of these regional leagues (Vestfold) and they are currently only 8th in this. .....they basically are a pub team. I can't believe we are playing teams of such low calibre, and that we are happy we scored ONLY 12 goals against them. They fall somewhere between 84-336th in their countries league standings...probably around the 210th mark...and i'm being more than fair to them.

It's about fitness and morale at the moment, whats the point of playing teams that will spank us? These games will help build up morale and fitness and are essential preperation for our Lazio friendly and the domestic friendlies and then the start of the season.
