POLICE had to seperate Saints and Crystal Palace fans during yesterday's Championship clash at Selhurst Park.
The flashpoint happened towards the end of the 1-1 draw shortly after Stern John had equalised for Saints.
One Saints fan present said: "I didn't see how it started because I was watching the game, but I looked down to the corner and saw the police going in with batons.
"It was all over pretty quickly.
"The police were down in the corner anyway by the gap which seperated the Palace fans behind the goal and the Saints fans down in the corner."
