NIGEL Pearson is searching for a loan goalkeeper as he faces the prospect of being without his top three keepers for this weekend's crunch match with Coventry.
An already tough job for the Saints boss has not been made any easier by injuries to key players and nowhere has that hit home more than in the goalkeeping department.
Kelvin Davis remains touch and go with a finger injury, Bartosz Bialkowski is out following surgery on his thumb last month while Michael Poke injured his ankle in the warm-up for the 5-0 defeat Hull. Though he struggled through the game he is also a doubt for the visit of Coventry to St Mary's.
If neither Davis nor Poke make it and Pearson cannot find a loan signing, it leaves just Andrej Pernecky, who turned 17 on Sunday, and 18-year-old Matej Rondos as options.
Pearson said: "We have injury problems and that doesn't help.
"I am actively looking to add to the squad but at the minute that's difficult.
"The goalkeeping situation is a priority at this point in time.

Ben Foster - When he was injured Sir Al suggested he wanted him to go back on Loan when he was fit. Apparently he had a good game at the weekend. This is a pipedream and I fully expect Dave Beasent to be between the sticks on Saturday!

And so, after watching the horse bolting down the road, Nige locks the stable door. Pericard was not needed/wanted. A keeper was required but ignored. We had an inexperienced keeper hobbling around the penalty area Saturday and Nige decides we need a back up now. I hope his decision making is better through the summer when we're building to get out of the 3rd division.

most people will laugh this off but if we need a keeper we could do worse than go and get Mark Bosnich he has been training with QPR and is fit & looking for a club. He looks to have sorted his life out !

I know you said no non league keepers but I'm available and play outside of non league in the Winchester and district a 36 year old in the form of his life and would be proud just to be able to play league football. (Well could it get any worse?)

I have seen a lot of slating of Nigel over last few days. I personnally think he has done a good job so far with what he has!

There must be a keeper available, Thomas Sorensen is 3rd choice at Villa and I see that Rab Douglas has reappeared from the shadows at Plymouth. Kevin Miller is without a club at the moment, as is John Burridge..

I still read the site Pete but have completely deleted my account. I will return in the not too distant future and spice up the board. In my opinion it is dying a slow death without the likes of me, Scooby and LS and anti.

Ben foster has said he is willing to go out on loan for the rest of the season as kushak is making his return to man u and so is van da sar,he would be a ideal keeper for saints ,but will the board bring him in or not their decision that they will have to make.We cant as a club put all the pressure on a 17 year old what good will that do ,we need exp[bold]bold experience to keep us in the chapionship .
