Break in at home of former Saints boss Strachan
Former Saints boss Gordon Strachan's house has been broken into, police said today.
Thieves raided his luxury home and reportedly made off with a haul of his belongings.
Celtic manager Strachan, 51, and his wife Lesley are reported to slept through the break-in.
The thieves reportedly stole items including a camera and a laptop computer during the raid at his hom in Bothwell, Lanarkshire.
The former Aberdeen, Manchester United and Leeds United player had no idea anything had happened until the the next morning, according to reports.
The former Scotland international, who was previously the manager of Southampton from 2001 to 2004, hinted at the incident at a Celtic press conference yesterday.
Asked if he was having sleepless nights because of the close-run championship race against Old Firm rivals Rangers, he said: "I'm sleeping too well. It'll be self-explanatory in a wee while, I'm sure.
"But I am sleeping too well, trust me."
Strathclyde Police confirmed they had received a report of a break-in.
A spokeswoman said: "Police were called about 9am in the morning on Thursday, May 8 to a report of a break-in.
"Police inquiries are ongoing."
