Hoos quits as Saints chief executive
SAINTS chief excecutive Lee Hoos has today resigned his position with immediate affect.
The rest of the Saints PLC board - Leon Crouch, Patrick Trant and Keith Wiseman - are now expected to follow soon, paving the way for Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde to return to power at St Mary's.
Hoos, brought to Saints by Wilde back in 2006 as part of the regime which ousted Lowe, said: "I am very grateful for having had the opportunity to serve the Company and Southampton Football Club.
"SFC is a great club and I can now only hope that everyone - fans, shareholders and employees - can put past differences behind them to unite and take this club forward again."

At least Lowe will budget for no investor and if one comes along, a very big if, we will be in a better position.

If lowe returns it is the DEATH of our once great club. I hope they leave the flags at half mast when they hand over the keys.
It is up to the fans to stay away now to show lowe he is NOT welcome here.

Chairmen should have egos the size of the club.

And so the Mass Exodus commences! The sooner the rest go the better so Wilde and Lowe can give Nigel the boot or the green light (hopefully the green light) then we can start building for next season! I've said it before, we need to Richard Wright here on a permenant deal ASAP!
I would also have to agree with the Portswood Pete there never was and probably never will be an investment on the table it was just Crouch trying to keep fans in his pocket! Time to get real! We need to prove we are good enough for the Championship before we even think of getting back to the Premier League!
COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not surprised Mr. Hoos has left; I fully expect the rest of the Board to follow in the next 24 hours. This current Board is, by its own endeavours, not up to the job, especially the Chairman. The previous Board was, by its own endeavours, not up to the job, especially the Chairman. The old Board is about to replace the new Board. As a shareholder I was at least given the opportunity to voice my opinion of the old Board and help get rid of them. I have not been extended that privilege this time; that has been preserved for those who can count their shareholdings in terms of several percentage points. Not very inclusive one may think. I will be very glad should the day arrive that a man, or woman, or several, of substance and wealth come forward and I can sell them my shares. I will be personally sad to lose them but very, very glad to see the back of those self-interested, puffed up egos which have occupied the Boardroom of the club for far too many years. I shall always keep my season ticket and if I'm not watching a team selected by Nigel Pearson next season it will be a more ridiculous state of affirs than we already have!

Lowe managed to bring zero investment to Saints in the nine years he was in charge, and I can't see that changing. The mans a monkey. Would you want to do business with him?

No loss. Jumped before he was pushed. Couldn't stomach the prospect of being fired from three football clubs. Let's hope Lowe and Wilde take a bit more care in their executive search in future.

I have made the decision not to renew my season ticket. The footie has been pretty poor for a few years with lots of overpaid players who do not love the club enough to stop themselves capitulating whenever the pressure is on - wth the exception of the sheffield utd game, to be fair.
The managers have been dreadful, while the behaviour at Board level has been nothing short of scandalous. I cannot pay for 3 season tickets any longer - my kids don't want to go any more. I cannot believe that Rupert Lowe has the temerity to waqlk back into this club. While I may or may not have a point of view on his abilities as chairman, especially one that took £300K per annum out of the club, the fact that he would come back in when so many fans are against him is remarkable. Does he realise that the first rule of leadership is that you have people who are willing to follow you.
I have had enough - shame though

Of all the people I would liked to have stayed at the club, it had to be Lee Hoos. I for one will be sad to see him go.
I expect Crouch and co to go tomorrow,
For those not renewing their season tickets. word of caution, don't cut of your nose to spite your face.
Until we know exactly what the future is lets not make any rash decisions about supportu=ing saints.
What ever happens I will always support and watch saints. Just becuase lowe is coming back is no reason not to stop watching saints

Lowe made a mint for himself and his pals (and Askham etc) from the floation, when the best deal for the CLUB was to take the offer from Gavyn Davies

The way I see it is that things can't get any worse than they have been for the past year or so.
As long as Lowe and Wilde don't sack Pearson and don't do any forced sales like what happened a year ago eg. bale, baird, jones then things will be fine.
If we sell players like Skacel, dyer, wright-phillips and one of the polish strikers then we should have at least 8 million to spend on good, CONSISTENT, players. the defence really needs sorting out as most of the decent defenders were on loan and now have gone back to ther clubs. maybe another striker wuld be good because we can't just rely on Stern John to score.
if investment does come through, which i really hope so, then thats great. but i do not think that things will get any worse.
Lowe and Wilde just need to do 3 things really:
1. NO forced sales.
2. KEEP Nigel Pearson
3. get NEW owners/investors fast

No one will buy a club that has poor attendane records, this is exactly why the club hasn't been bought aready, because attendance has gone as low as 17,500.
i hte Lowe just as much as anyone else. BUT the only way to get rid of him is to fill the stadium up every match and chant our opinions of him and his cronies. then he will be bought out much quicker.

If Lowe's back, then many real Saints fans won't step inside SMS for a long time, unless he brings real money with him.
Chances of that happening are zero.
Just when things were looking up, everyone was together backing the most important thing, the football team, along comes the most divisive figure in Southampton's history to b*gger it all up.
If you're reading Rupert, you have a lot to do to gain respect from large groups of fans who believe you only to be here for the money and power the Chairman's role brings you.
For some, that's fine, for many who still believe football has a heart as well as a bank balance, that is simply not enough.
Sad times that no-one sees this football club as one of the best opportunities in the land, and Europe for that matter.
Two potential blows this week. P*mpey winning the cup. Lowe returning to St. Mary's.
Awful!

[bold]bold[/bold] [bold]bold[/bold] Sad fact is that all involved are part of the mediocrity.
The Fuller bid is mediocre, more designed for Bournemouth than the Saints and nothing real will happen.
Wilde and Lowe together are a joke. Wilde was interviewing Stuart Baxter and Simon Hunt back in January to come back. Full details available.
Lowe is a financial snake and so too his bagman Cowan.
How sad for a once great Club and why couldn't the others show sonme balls.

Sure that lowe has a sizeable pension from his earlier escapades with Leisure Holdings. On that basis, should Lowe return, he may be taken more seriously if h:
1) does not take a salary;
2) let's Pearson have a crack at building a team;
3) steps aside if/when the investment comes in.
4) irrespective of the PLC aspect, be upfront with the state of the books at all times.
If he stands up from day one and announces that publicly - fine, i will go along with it.
I have said it before, but the guy will not get involved just to boost his ego - he will want a healthier return on his investment which means either finding a rich buyer for the club, or managing the clubs finances in such a way to foster the conditions to allow a team to be built which can challenege for promotion to the prem.

What a bunch of tw@ts, all you so called supporters who will not be going anymore because of Lowes return.I have had a season ticket for thirty years and although I am not overjoyed at Ruperts return I am not going to let him put me off supporting my team. As Redarmy says it is the team and the manager that true supporters support, it shouldnht matter to a true fan who is on the board. I think Saints are better off without all you so called whinging supporters. This is just the time when all true fans will stand up and support thier team.

I can't believe such negative comment, I'm neither pro or against Lowe but have to question if those that have followed him been any better ?. All those that would not renew their season tickets depending on a chairman rather than manager and team please go away now, you can't be true supporters for the team or club and are probably the people who boo and leave early when we're losing.

the only reason lowe and wilde are coming back is so it is easier for investors to buy the club as it wasnt like that when there are so many shareholders.

Lowe and Wilde just need to do 3 things really: 1. NO forced sales. 2. KEEP Nigel Pearson 3. get NEW owners/investors fast

Does he realise that the first rule of leadership is that you have people who are willing to follow you. I have had enough - shame though
DO NOT RENEW YOUR SEASON TICKET,YOU ARE ONLY FUNDING THE CANCER THAT WANTS THE CLUB DEAD.
I agree,l have supported Saints and been a season ticket holder since 1978, and l would rather buy a season ticket for Fratton Park.
Anyone who believes they love Saints, now is the time to prove it.
Do not step foot inside SMS as long as the clueless failure is there.
The man is a born LOSER.
what a load of complete TOSH!!
I am Saints forever, and its the TEAM and MANAGER i support-the board doesnt come into it for me.
i love the club and will till i die,no matter what situation arises..ill always be there supporting them.Quote | Report this postPosted by: True fan, Southampton on 7:14pm today
Mary's. Awful!

Gavyn Davies has never put a penny into the club and never offered to apart from when he lied and said he would invest when Lowe resigned, Lowe resigned and lo and behold Davies done a runner. If the reverse takeover never happened we would still be at the Dell and with 15,000 capacity, even smaller than sh1t city's "stadium", we would never get back to the prem.
