Saints fan with a Pompey tattoo? You’re pulling my leg!
 |
| SAINT: Pete Spake. Picture Solent |
ONE fan who will have to cover up on his next visit to St Mary's will be pub landlord Pete Spake who has had the Portsmouth crest tattooed on his leg.
The Saints fan had the club badge inked on his left leg after a dare from his pub's darts team.
Pete, 63, a pub landlord in Portsmouth said he would have the tattoo done if the team raised £500 for charity - which they did in just two weeks.
Speaking after his two-hour ordeal that was watched by some of his regulars, Pete, a dad-of-seven, said he had no regrets.
He said: "The lads in the pub are all Pompey fans but I'm originally from Southampton and have always been a Saints fan.
"The Pompey fans in the pub will love it but I'm not so sure about all my mates at home who are Saints fans - I might not tell them about it.
"Some of my kids are Saints fans too so I'm not quite sure what they're going to think of this. But I don't regret it at all - even if it means I can't wear shorts in Southampton again."
The money raised will go to a children's charity.

Well appearing in the echo might not be the best wat to keep it quiet.

He should have the Saints crest on the other leg. That'll really mess everyone up.

John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood does a lot for charity, but I think that there would never be enough money raised to get him to have a certain club's badge tatooed on any part of his torso!

Seriously why would anyone do that? You would have to shoot me before I would have anything inked on me related to Pompey. This guy is a disgrace.

Mr Spake you might as well become a Skate now cos you are NOT a Saints fan, and probably never were!
Stupid thing to do and even more stupid to say you are coming to SMS. We know what you look like. Have it amputated or we might do it for you.
Moron.

Shall we put things into perspective slightly!! If you read the article he actually did it for charity!! Fair play to him, it raised money, it's his leg, so what's the harm.
It also says that he is a lifelong saints pompey fan living in pompey, He's clearly been accepted by pompey so why are you calling him a disgrage, his allegience won't change just because he has a pompey tattoo, get real guys!!!

Can I just say I did not give him a brown envelope to do this and I did not go down the bookies and stick a monkey on some Saints fan getting a Pompey tattoo.

Pete - my advice to you: Get another tattoo saying "I hate" just above the discraceful one.
Other than that, have it removed. It is hideous!
