Idiakez: Pearson has brought pride back to Saints

INIGO Idiakez is desperate to be back playing for Saints next season - and he hopes to be doing so under the management of Nigel pearson.
The Spanish playmaker is one of a number of players whose future at the club is uncertain, as he is out of contract this summer.
The 34-year-old is also keenly aware that Pearson's role as boss is equally unsure.
But he hopes that both will be back at St Mary's next season and helping to mount a promotion charge.
"With no doubt I would love to work under Nigel Pearson and help Southampton to restore leadership and the right attitude to fight for promotion next season," he said.
"Southampton deserves that great season which it has been waiting three seasons for now and I wish I can be part of that."
Idiakez said he has enjoyed working under Pearson and the Saints boss has brought a lot of good qualities to the club.
"The arrival of Nigel Pearson has brought an effect of pride, courage and discipline in the team," he said.
"He has shown such a big commitment, honesty, discipline and fitness.
"We have been motivated and changed our performance and attitude.
"Nigel Pearson has been the man who has brought pride back to this team."
Idiakez added he was particularly impressed at how Pearson overcame a number of difficult obstacles after joining in February.
"He arrived with some criticism and doubts, with the transfer window closed and with the coaching staff already in place," he said.
"It was just him against all the odds and (he achieved) the target.
"He brought in a couple of good defenders, who brought more quality and safety.
"He also impacted by bringing in a top goalkeeper, in Richard Wright.
"I admire this man. His speeches, tactics, knowledge and winning attitude to succeed has really impacted me.
"He has also made me a better player and has improved the team, who were really scared and frustrated.
"He has put us all together and made us play as a team, in spite of the injuries and off-the-pitch issues."

This is one of the reasons it is so important to keep Pearson, he already knows the squad and they know him, I know the players they report in the media will have a bias pro view but suely if Pearson already has the respect and reccomendation of the players then he is heads up on any new manager coming to the club!
Some players such as Idiakez have seemed to get a new life and others, such as Euell changed and began playing like we were told they could when we brought them in

He tries his best but is always totally out-bantered, he has no sense of humour at all and his memory does not serve him well either, he was obviously in a different part of Covent Garden at the time - probably looking around the Toy shops - and the only thing they took apart at Fratton was their own city, duh! As for his account of the Joiners incident he again must have been somewhere else, more than likely in his cellar playing with his toys he acquired on his aforementioned trip to the Capital!
On another subject, anyone think the 2 PFC lads who had their medals "stolen" might be pulling a fast one? If I had just won a priceless F.A. Cup winners medal, the last place I'd put it is in my jacket pocket and leave it on the back of a chair unattended! And is a "washbag" an obvious place for an opportunist thief to look? I dunno, just a thought. If it is true though, I do hope they get them back or get replacements as these medals are generally "once in a lifetime" momentoes and are what every player dreams of!

The man’s behaviour caused him yet more concern because he kept referring to the dried crust in his hand as a bagel and kept saying he must not miss his flight home. It was then in a moment of inspiration Dr Freud realised the cure. This man must become a Saints fan and support a proper football in a proper stadium with descent people as supporters. He needed to be removed from the dark evil skate influences in his life. Dr Freud picked up his telephone and called St Mary’s Stadium preparing to buy a season ticket knowing this was the last chance for this sad, lonely, decrepit man to recover his wasted life. Crew 657 lay back on the psychiatrist’s couch and closed his tired eyes. Let your mind go blank said Dr Freud. Little did he know 657’s mind was always blank for being a skate he had the mind of a fish and hence the same memory and concentration span. I would like you to relax and tell me about your childhood continued Dr Freud. 657 gulped and fought hard to hold back the tears as he remembered the traumas of his early years but it was to no avail for he had always been a cry-baby. Before long enormous tears were rolling down his cheeks. It was the other children he began. Which ones asked Dr Freud your brothers or sisters or the big children? No replied 657 it was those kids in kindergarten they used to say boo to me and I would wet myself. When was this? asked Dr Freud. When I was about 14 replied 657 and then they would call me names. And what did you do asked our medical professional? Why I ran home to my mum replied our hero. Why didn’t you stand up for yourself asked Dr Fraud why did you run away? They all had red and white striped shirts on and even though they were only 4 years old they were really tough and I was very frightened. So that is where you got your hatred of people who wear these shirts from said the quack. Yes said 657 and then one day I met some bigger boys in blue shirts and they would shout scum at these children and then run away as fast as they could and they let me be their friend as they could see I was as frightened as they were. With 657’s eyes tightly shut the doctor slipped a saint’s shirt over 657’s head and suddenly it was like a scene from a fairy tale. The horrid nasty monster of a man was transformed instantly into a descent honest and genuine human being he stopped crying straight away and stood up tall and proud. Thank you Doctor he said I feel so much better and in a moment of sincere appreciation he gave Freud a warm hug and left the surgery singing his newly discovered favourite song about Owen the Saint. He would soon learn other cheerful ditties such as when I was just a little boy etc which he particularly liked. 657 had never been happier in his life. Will there be a happy ending?
Is crew finally on the road to recovery?

They all had red and white striped shirts on and even though they were only 4 years old they were really tough and I was very frightened. So that is where you got your hatred of people who wear these shirts from said the quack. Yes said 657 and then one day I met some bigger boys in blue shirts and they would shout scum at these children and then run away as fast as they could and they let me be their friend as they could see I was as frightened as they were. Do you want me to help you with this problem asked Dr Freud? Oh yes said 657 I want a life I want to be like normal people. Well first said the doctor you must take of that blue football shirt and close your eyes while I put this new shirt on you.
