Saints tight lipped after Pearson meeting
 |
| Nigel Pearson |
SAINTS are remaining tight lipped after Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde's first meeting with Nigel Pearson.
The Saints boss met with Lowe and Wilde early yesterday morning at St Mary's.
It is understood that discussions went on between Pearson, the PLC chairman and the football board chairman for just short of two hours before they broke up.
However, there has been no formal conclusion and no public announcement was expected imminently on the situation.
The meeting was a chance to discuss the future direction of the club and whether Pearson would continue as manager.

Your up early, I thought dole collection was on Fridays.
Brilliant comeback NP although you are overlooking a couple of things .
A) i thought you had to have the ability to spell your name in order to collect benefits, something our inferior neighbours lack
B) Even if the were able to do this surely webbed hands would make it difficult to grip a pen.

Can we please stop responding to Pompey fans. Believe it or not, I'd like to read the opinions of Saints fan about Southampton Football Club without having to trawl through a series of moronic "I'm harder than you" posts.

Why stop discussions with NP after just 2 hours? Isn't getting a settled manager the priority so we can move on to the next most pressing job of releasing and maybe bringing in other players?
They should have cleared their diaries and talked all day and even into the night, to resolve this top priority issue. If, after that time talking, they decided they didn't want NP, at least they could then move on and seek his replacement.
Any available players, within our budget, are not going to be sat at home waiting to see if SFC come calling.
If we're not careful by the time we try to sign players we'll be in the "school playground" situation where the only players left are the fat boy and the one with glasses that no one else wants!

I know Crouch wasn't the man to take Saints forward.. but at least we would have been told exactly what was going on after this meeting!
Lowe doesn't quite realised how many fans are sitting round at home feeling powerless, checking the news every hour to see if we still have the manager we all want!

I think that Pompey were handed the FA Cup due to 3 English Prem sides still being involved with the Champions League until the semi finals. First time 3 English sides were in the semis = first time a crap prem side and championship side get to the final in yonks.

Meet at St.Mary's?
I meet NP yesterday, and he was not in Southampton!
He a really nice guy and very positive. He is the right man for the job, and i told him this and told him to check the websites including the Saintsforum, and he will see how many Saints fans are backing him. Which he really appreciated! I hope RL and Turn coat wilde are big enough to see this, and give this club the bounus of having continuity on the manager front!
NP is honest and is going to be one of the next up and coming managers, and we will look so silly to let him slip through our fingers! How many other clubs can get their lazy football players speaking up for him in great numbers. Give him money to invest in the team, and he will create his own team which to date he has not had. He will take us up!

Crew 657:
Intelligent you are not.
Educated you are not.
Mental retard you definitely are.
It is patently clear that you have a mental (and probably physical) age of 2 years maximum, a total vocabulary of 30 or so words, most of which you are unable to spell or coherently place in any order to convey meaning. As for working in an office - please do me a favour! Which one? The local mental hospital?
You may well succeed in winding up a few of the posters on here, because they clearly have not recognised what a pathetic lowlife you really are. Indeed I tend to have pity whenever I see your pathetic ungrammatical and meaningless diatribes (you will need help to decipher some of my words, I doubt you'd know what a dictionary is). I shall certainly not reply to anything more you may scratch out.
To all normal and intelligent posters on this site, I strongly recommend you do not reply in any form to this retard called crew 657. The only reason this pathetic weasel posts is because people respond to him. So please - ignore it totally. He will eventually go away.

This board is supposed to be about Nigel Pearson but loads of you have let the stupid comments made by a very sad and stupid individual take it off topic and into the gutter. I know on a site like this you are bound to get wierdos like the Lowe Lovers and Lowe Haters as well as the stupid comments from people who know nothing about Saints or football these I can dismiss but Crew 657 has a motive and by replying to his inane trash you are satisfy his sad psychological need. Not one word he says has any basis in fact for it is all a creation of his corrupt imagination. By responding you satisfy his need. If you really want to hurt the sad fool the cruellest thing you can do is ignore him. Those who reply to him are just as much in need of attention as he is.
Now what I came on here for. I am no Lowe lover or hater but Nigel Pearson has been a real breath of fresh air at Saints. He has to be given a chance after lifting us out of the dire situation Burley had got us into. If Lowe does not appoint him then he has lost the opportunity to appoint someone who would have united the fans. (There will be the usual responses to that from people who contribute to this site who will disagree with whatever is written because that is what stupid 12 year old boys do.)
If Lowe does appoint NP then I will be a little nearer to thinking the man has learned from his mistakes.

Isn't it wonderful?
The club is being run without the need for any party to run to the press to disrupt what is happening.
It seems the ECHO is not even making up 'News' of what was discussed, so they haven’t got a clue. Just as it should be.
Keep it up SAINTS, make the right decisions and have Press releases when there is something to say.

Burley did absolutely nothing from the end of last season, all through the summer when he had known for months we desperately needed central defenders to replace Svensson, Lundekvam and by the time he signed 'loan players' who were blatantly not good enough, or were injured before or if not immediately after they arrived. Then when we signed a couple of half decent players i.e. Dailly and Ifill we couldn't keep hold of them i.e. Ifill preferring to go and play at Colchester instead of staying at SAINTS beggars belief!! Lets hope we don't have yet another summer of wasted opportunities - lets go out and find the best loan players available i.e. from top Premiership clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal etc. instead of sitting on our backsides doing absolutely nothing.

Nigel deserves better. The talks will have broken down when he realised the agenda which Lowe & Wilde have. Lawrie McMenemy has left and no doubt Nigel will too. Lowe is only concerned with profit, which will never come without major investment and stability. We need to keep the momentum from the last game, keep the manager, spend some money and invest in loaning quality youth players with low risk and decent potential. Build the team up with a couple of hardened professionals coming to the end of their career on a free and move into the new season with a clear plan and objective.

Surely they are trying to get the club going on a sound financial basis and probably building for promotion in three to five years
