SOUTHAMPTON'S UFO mystery continued yesterday as yet more evidence emerged of weird triangle and cubeshaped objects stalking our skies.

Since the Daily Echo reported on the mystery this week, another three readers have come forward with footage and photographs of UFOs hovering above Shirley and Millbrook.

The latest footage was captured by Dilys Bartlett and her family as they sat in the backyard of their Shirley home on Sunday, June 1.

"We looked up into the sky and there it was - a black triangle,"

Mrs Bartlett said.

"It did not seem to be moving left or right, it just drifted up into the clouds before disappearing."

Mrs Bartlett said she had no idea what the mystery object was, but said it could not be a kite as there was absolutely no wind that day. Another reader, Leonard Cattley, spotted a similar UFO on the same day and said: "It was hovering for at least 15 minutes so we got a very good look at it, if it was a kite it would have been huge.

"It looked very much like a hovering stealth fighter but it made no noise, having worked at Heathrow Airport and lived at Farnborough in my time, I am no stranger to aircraft but this object looked liked nothing I have seen before."

A strikingly similar UFO was photographed by reader Rob Baker from his backyard in Regent's Park three weeks ago.

"We were out in the garden when my oldest son pointed it out.

It was a long way away so I got my camera out to zoom in on it," he said. "From the zoomed image it looks like a powered hang glider.

It was more of a square shape than a triangle and there was a dull humming sound, but I cannot be sure that wasn't coming from the road."

The X-Files-style mystery has left UFO enthusiasts baffled and an investigation was even launched by Southampton Airport after a worried member of the public alerted bosses.

Possible explanations include Chinese lanterns, microlights, model aircrafts, kites or even a secret military project.

Recruitment consultant Gavin Chapman also came forward with another mysterious photograph, which he took in the city last summer.

"I was taking a photograph of a rainbow at the time, but I didn't notice there was also an object in the picture," he said.

"Then, about three weeks ago, I was deleting pictures from my mobile phone when I spotted it.

After reading about the other recent UFO sightings on the Echo website I decided to send it in because I hope somebody can tell me what it is."

Mr Chapman added: "If you zoom in you can see that there are clearly three corners of a triangle. I honestly don't know what it is. I suppose it could be a helicopter or maybe just dirt on the lens.

"I believe there is something out there. There has to be, but whether this is it, I don't know."

There has still never been a rational explanation for the UFO i photographed over the New Forest in August last year (search UFO NEW FOREST on this site). I was accused of throwing wheel trims,hair diffusers and many other objects up in the air and photographing them, but i can honestly say that i didnt, neither did i doctor the photo. I decided to be anonymous as i didn't want myself or more importantly my family ridiculed...and judging by the comments i got on this site i eveidently made the right decision.

As a professional investigator, I would love to have someone look at the real footage, it does indeed look like a kite/possibly hang glider, these do hover when controlled properly as they catch certain air flows that you would not feel on the ground. I have seen some wierd stuff in my time, but this isn't it.

Its rather important that people in UK and elsewhere start to understand that new types of craft, reconnaissance from ETs is being deployed for unknown reasons to get info on Earth's Inhabitants. I strongly urge you all to get more serious and understand how important this video really is and how essential it is to get the recorder of the video to give statements to ufo research groups in entirety of the event seen. Google my name/word ufo "Steve Tobias ufo" to learn the latest in ufo research work i did in years 2006 and 2007.At youtube.com search "derr ufo". Very important, 25 videos there I worked on.
If you still do not accept after reading more how serious the matter is i suggest you search youtube.com video using search phrase nasa ufos or nasa worm...it will show a cargo craft that was being tugged by a ufo (gold orb stays motionless in video) and the tug released the "worm" ufo as the NASA space crew went over head, the size of this craft is inestimable but could be at least a mile in length, the nature of its uncontrolled motion in zero gravity suggests to me-- a ufo researcher since 1991 that it contains biomass of some kind...the craft was being tugged to Earth or was transferring material from Earth to elsewhere. I am a Veteran of the US Air Force and your own nation's Military maintains secrets from you about ufos...wake up, learn, become motivated.

your comments are very amusing and witty but if you examine the youtube video i created of exactly the object i saw late last year it is very similar in its structure to this object on film...is it asking to much for you to at least see when i posted my youtube film of a ufo reconnaissance drone ? The art work I did is a very good representation of what was seen and it was not far away from me at the time of the sighting, and I have been a ufo researcher since 1991...the city paper interview of me is online titled-- watch the skies-- reporter was david dudly... please examine the real world before you mock those who investigate it.

I saw it on the 1st June from my garden with binoculars - It started of low in the direction of Millbrook. It wasn't a kite but was definitely man-made and a little smaller than a one man tent. The light people have been seeing was a flame that was giving it lift (hot air balloon style!). So no aliens I'm afraid, more likely a well-crafted hoax.

To all the skeptics out there...I had a daylight encounter with a golden-white disc-shaped craft in the summer of 1969 when I was a young boy of 14 years of age. There is something going on in our skies. While there are many fakes and hoaxes I for one can speak from experience. Let stop for a moment and think of this...if out of all the tens of thousands of reports since recorded history began, if just one encounter is the real thing then humanity will have to rethink a great many things. As for my encounter, to this day, after all these years...I am now 53 years old...my encounter this plays a major part in my life.Now, there are not many kites that I know of that can have that kind of influence.

Some of the comments on here are pathetic, small minded and what you'd typically expect from those only interested in celebrities, soaps and sport, who always follow rather than lead and rarely ask questions. Yea you can take the pi55 all you like with your advanced knowledge of everything, you take answers for things without questioning. Your boundaries are restricted by your own lack of security. You have been brainwashed by the society around you and the 42'' Plasma on the livingroom wall A.K.A centre of your universe. You are the same people who believed the Earth was flat and riddiculed those who opposed this idea, I give you one piece of advice - question everything.
I don't believe this was an alien craft, military almost certainly. The question is - Is this craft powered by alien technology or is it a new energy source we have created. The next question is - If it is advanced energy why are we still looking at fossil fuels for our energy source?
Look how much money we pay out for each and every day for our energy in taxes, aswell as being lied to by the powers that be, we have been told that climate change is the biggest problem mankind has had to face in history, created by our burning of fossil fuels and co2 emissions. Basic science will tell you this is rubbish, but if we have learnt to proprel an aircraft without the use of conventional methods why are we not being told about this and the same technology being used to solve the energy/climate crisis? If you all look a little deeper, it doesn't have to be about little green men from mars, but it does raise some fairly simple questions which affect each and every one of us. Now of course you can continue to find out about some made up negative storyline in Eastenders, or, you can start looking outside your box for 5mins a day and start looking at real things.

I can not say with certainty what the object is ,with out further detail,the object in the photo reminds me of a balloon.Shouldn't suprise me that artists would take up with new balloon designs and kite makers would create new ideas and publish them in the sky.

hi there, i was fishing at wylands in battle kent on sat14 june 10/11pm when i see 3 objects one behind the other fly/float past in silence i alerted other fisherman for them to see also witnessing another five exactly the same fly past,then dissapearing into the clouds. i know what i saw and they are definatly out there. nice photo, we were to shocked to take one

Any one of those jibbering idiots that ridicule valid sightings of UFO's will be stunned into silence one day when they too have an encounter. I had doubts until it happened to me, 2" from my nose. They are here, 100% absolutely. The government knows it, the military knows it, and I know it. If you want to see the best footage look up John Lenard Walson F.A.S.T., on the web, and look at the NASA shuttle footage too. It's all there for you to see for yourselves. They are here, and in large numbers. It is true, 100%. We are the only source of water for billions of miles, and only one species on this planet is destroying everything here...what would you do if you had termites in your house?

An unidentified flying object with the same design and shape was seen wobbling in the night sky over the wilderness in the south western part of the U.S. during the '80s, I believe, by a woman, her mother, and her son.
It landed in the road where it hung around a little while and then departed. The trio, scared @*&!less while watching from the car, came down with severe radiation poisoning in a short time. If I recall correctly, the kid died from it. Kites are not highly radioactive. Not even the "new super-duper improved" models!

To me, this photo looks like some sort of oddly-shaped funnel cloud or whirlwind. I have seen some weird weather anomalies that looked a lot like this image.

Also, a weather anomaly would explain why so many people saw it.
