UFO photographed over Hampshire
 |
| MYSTERY OBJECT: The picture taken by Loiza Loizou at Weston Shore. |
REMARKABLE new evidence of UFOs in the skies over Hampshire can be revealed today.
Daily Echo readers captured these bizarre images of what appear to be flying saucers zooming through our skies.
The UFOs were snapped over Beaulieu and Woolston by pure accident and only noticed days later by the photographers.
Hampshire has been in the grip of an X Files-style UFO mystery after black triangles were seen flying over Millbrook and Shirley in recent months.
Last week the Echo thought it had explained the phenomenon - a mini-hot air balloon made out of four black bin bags. But the latest sightings are clearly something completely different - and remain a mystery.
It's behind you!
Keen amateur photographer Richard Branch was in the garden of his Brockenhurst home when he photographed an American Heuy Helicopter on display at Beaulieu on May 26.
It was not until he later checked his photographs that he noticed there was a strange flying object in one of them.
"I took the photo from quite a distance and at the time was only interested in catching the helicopter, I didn't notice the object until I looked at the photos on my computer some days later," he said.
"I can't explain what it is. Others have said balloon, drone or bird, but if this was the case it would have shown up in the first photo taken one minute earlier. The light reflecting from the object looks to me as though it's metallic and moving quite fast.
"I cannot believe that we are the only life form in the entire universe. Many of the pictures that I have seen of so-called UFOs can be explained as hoaxes, some cannot."
University of Southampton student Loiza Loizou also received a shock after searching through photographs she had taken of the night sky over Weston Shore.
Her brother, Yiannkai, said: "She had no idea an object was in front of her but it was clearly visible in the photo when the flash illuminated it, as can be seen from zooming in on the object and noticing the glass reflecting the light," he said.
"Maybe there's an obvious explanation we're missing but she assures me there were no lights near by and that it was totally dark.
"I am one of the most sceptical people there are but, because I know the person who took this photograph, I am puzzled."
Meanwhile, Daily Echo reader Leon Gill also had a close encounter when he spotted a UFO while on a tea break at his work in Chandler's Ford industrial estate on June 13.
"It was 10am and we were outside on our tea break. One guy looked up and said What's that?' We looked up and there was something moving across the sky, white in colour at a very high speed.
"It was a clear day but there was no jet stream behind it. As we watched, it then began a kind of S-shaped manoeuvre which is also something that cannot be done at that speed.
"As it passed in front of a white cloud, the object turned black and was then instantly, from out of nowhere joined by a second black object.
"They both then darted across the sky. As we followed them, they all of a sudden disappeared."

Good grief! The 'stars' are magnified hugely (you can see the pixels) & the 'flying broach' is sharp & detailed. No photo editing there then. Oh well, I suppose it fills up column inches. The septics will be on in a minute. (Not sceptic, cockney rhyming slang)

I also saw the silver spear type object zooming across the skies from the airport area towards southampton from a garden in wide lane on a clear and very sunny day about three weeks ago and put it down to maybe a new type of aircraft from the military? I didnt want to tell the papers and look stupid when someone came forward to explain it.!!If they are UFO's then why dont they try and communicate instead of just zooming along in the skies?

Hello 'Big Boy'!
Is it just me or does it strike anyone else as strange to be taking a photo of an object and then stick it in the extreme left hand side of the picture? Moving objects should generally be photographed with a large expanse in front of them (to be moving into) for it to be aesthetically pleasing!

I was driving down the M27 and saw a similar thing. It touched down on a long strip of tarmac and had Thomson written on the side. That must have been the aliens name?

It's a shame when publications do obviously fake UFO reporting and use obviously doctored images, because it detracts from the real ones. It muddies the waters and makes ALL sightings seem bizarre or false. I think that I will remember the name "daily echo" and associate it with junk reporting. It's like crying wolf but without ever having a wolf - sorry Daily Echo but you are dismissed as popularist and typically spurious - like the Enquirer. [bold]bold[/bold]

i have studied numerous sightings over the years and have been reading the echo with interest.
the photo of the helicopter is very interesting and i shall be doing a follow up study.
the picture allegedly taken at western shore however, is of a slotted pan head woodscrew and a washer. try turning the image upside down..

Quite right. Upside down it does look like a screw and washer.
Right way up it looks like something out of Button Moon.
There's even a bit of wire coming from the top of the pic making it 'float'.
It certainly is remarkable but not in a good way.

Te he![/quote] Not really. Well, I called him a moron I suppose, which is not strictly true, but everything else is based on facts presented here, so, no, not the same thing at all. Only the insecure feel the need to rip into someone like that for having a perceived boring hobby. It's not normal to unload that amount of hatred on a total stranger just because they choose to be interested in a load of mumb-jumbo. The [bold]real[/bold] hatred is inward-bound. The name-calling amplifies it. It's all textbook really.
I'll slap meself anyway, for the moron part :-)

On Sunday 22nd June at about midday, my daughter said "look Daddy, a balloon" When I looked up, I saw what I thought was a silver balloon that was projecting from the west to east, at quite a speed and at about a 10% rise. Because the balloon festival was on, I thought I was looking at a helium balloon. But I thought they dont travel in that trajectory or at that speed. It eventually dissappeared into the clouds. Did anyone else see this over Lordshill?

Having looked at the two photos they are both laughable consider the following points.
The night time UFO.
1 if photographing stars you do not use a flash! The flash range on a standard camera is about 20 feet.
If her flash illuminated the ‘object’ it therefore must be within 20 feet.
2 Stars are a long way away so to take a picture of stars you set the focal length on infinity (far way, so the stars are clear) So why is the object some 20 feet away ( at the most) clear.
3 If taking photos of the night sky you need to keep the camera very still to prevent blurring, if you move the camera then the stars will appear as smears, but then the likely hood of panning at the exactly same speed as a mysterious object so that is in focus is also unlikely.
In summary a fraud / fake/ double image not a UFO.
The second photo, as the person states it was a long way off but the layout of the picture suggests it has been cropped, there is no method of confirming the amount of separation between the helicopter and the object, as for it not being in the second picture taken one minute earlier, passenger aircraft cruise at about 500 miles per hour so in one minute would have travelled about eight miles so would have not appeared near the helicopter..
Perhaps the greatest mystery is way is the echo printing such rubbish

Jeez, could everyone here be more synical. I realise the one photo of the stars look fake, but the other of the helicopter looks real. What will it take before any of you believe? When they land on the white house lawn? And why there? Why not a quiet place in the middle of nowhere so the aliens can control the situation. Think about it... If I travelled millions of miles for a meet and greet with intelligent life, I'd do it somewhere quiet.
Maybe it's not aliens.. maybe it's a new military craft.. who knows..
Even if Aliens came, you ppl wouldn't have the imgination to believe, and wouldn't recognise one if they slapped you on the ****! Tell someone you saw they baby Jesus, and they setup a vigil on your lawn, tell them you see a UFO, and you're a nut.. Bunch of Synics the lot of you.
