Gunpoint hold-up at bookies
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery in Southampton.
A man brandishing a gun burst into Coral bookmakers in Burgess Road, Bassett where he pointed the firearm at staff and demanded cash.
Workers however confronted the man and gave chase out of the shop and the robber made off towards the Flowers estate.
It's the second hold-up in a bookies in the area in the last two weeks.
An armed gang made off with £1,000 stuffed in a bag when a gunpoint robbery took place at BetFred in High Road Swaythling on June 30.
The man in the latest incident is believed to be around 20 years old and was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Bitterne on 0845 045 4545.

He will have visited it just before the robbery, or have an accompliss in the shop sending him a text when the coast is clearer. Examine the CCTV and round up any body who was in there in the 30 minutes leading up to it.

why dont the council just put a wire fence all around that flower estate?
someones car was shot at in the cantell school car park few weeks ago......same gun??
why not raid all the stapletons & flirtys house oh and uni kebab?

What odds are they giving on catching them?
Perhaps they will turn up at a police station and after dragging the dollops away from the CCTV cams and gets them to arrest them and confess in freshly drawn blood otherwise they will be yet another unsolved crime for the police database. Sad. They may have felt some sick pride in being up there with the 88 Seatbelt Gang and above all the Mickey Mouse Lighter Mob

its funny because i kno who did it it was the same gun from up cantell im 1 of the youths on the estate who was apart of the safe takers gang a few years ago from half a million pound robbed from shops the onlys clues ileave here are that it still some of the same people that are doin all this stuff theres not just 1 gun either theres about 5 and there all kept on the flower esate im no better im in rubbish now but this is the least i can say because there my mates [bold]bold[/bold]

I am one of the many law abiding citizens who live here. If any of you really knew this area you would know that most people who live here are decent people.There is a very small minority that cause havoc on this estate, the problems occur in the justice system. The police make the arrests but the courts just let them go again.
