Nathan Dyer will make his first appearance of pre-season in the friendly at Eastleigh tomorrow.

The winger has recently been banished from training with the rest of the first-team as he continues to stall on signing a new contract.

Saints remain hopeful the young winger will agree to sign the contract, which is still on the table, and Poortvliet will give Dyer a run-out at The Silverlake Stadium.

The Dutchman said: "He is in talks with the club and we hope he will sign. He is not training with the first-team at the moment while he has not signed but we can use him.

"He's a good player, a quick player who can dribble and cross but he will maybe have to score more goals."

Polish striker Marek Saganowski, who is being eased back in after an extended lay-off due to his participation at Euro 2008, is also set to feature against Eastleigh as is goalkeeper Tommy Forecast.

Ticket prices are £10 for adults and £5 for students and OAP's while under 12's are free.

Saints (from): Andrej Penecky, Tommy Forecast, Jake Thomson, Arran Racine, Kyle Davies, Joseph Mills, Ben Reeves, Oscar Gobern, Marek Saganowski, Nathan Dyer, Jamie White, Matthew Paterson, Sam Argent, Tom Dunford, Callum McNish, Kayne McLaggon, Tony Garrod, Ryan Tafazolli

This can only be to get him fit to sell him.

I started from the position that there is no place for players like BWP and Dyer at this club. Its not about them being guilty or not - its getting themselves into a position where their integrity can be challenged.

If the club feel they deserve a second chance so be it but I would expect to see a work rate 100% higher than either displayed last season before I applaud them with any sincerity.

I'm hoping he signs, he's an exciting player and great one to watch, if he keeps himself fit and avoids injuries I honestly think he can become great. He's clearly made mistakes with his personal life and I hope the young lad sees the club as a way of getting his head down and working hard towards his goal of playing in the Prem.

It's a tricky one with Dyer. He's a good player but if he goes so be it. If he stays (because no one else wants him) perhaps he'll get the chance to show his full potential. He's got competition this season from Lallana and Holmes and the challenge may be good for him.

Better watch those wallets in the Eastleigh dressing room, Bradley Sh1te will still be on the loose.

Dyer doesn't deserve to play for us as he is a disgrace to the club not only by his actions at Bar Blu bur in NOT signing a new contract it is a slap in the face for a club that has stuck by him throughout.

Also does anyone know what has happened to Ollie Lancashire? haven't seen him on the teamsheet of any of the pre season friendlies so far is he injured? Arran Racine seems to have taken over as the promising young centre back for us.
