JAN Poortvliet has confirmed there could be more changes to his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

With so many youngsters in and around the first team squad, it has pushed more experienced pros, who are also higher wage earners, such as Marek Saganowski, Rudi Skacel and Jason Euell, out of the picture.

There have been rumours from abroad that several clubs are sniffing round Polish international Saganowski, including Brann Bergen of Norway and Aalborg of Denmark.

You started it and anyway what do you mean he made our club what it used to be?.

With Saga gone to Denmark, that means we need to keep at least one from Rasiak & John.

And what fee will we get from Aalborg? How will this raise the mans profile, or put him in the shop window. As with Viafara, Safri,Rudi Skacel and Rasiak we will give him away. "to get him off the wage bill"

Let's not start all that anti or pro Wilde and Lowe dribble. This article is about football matters, not obsessive personal views on individuals. Two of our "senior" strikers were expected to go. As Saga has gone on loan, we would expect either Rasiac or John to follow. (It was confusing to hear on Radio Solent this morning that Rasiac (should have been Saga) had gone to Denmark). Scacel also to go before the window closes? Then perhaps a fullback can be brought in? The steady progress continues. COYR.

If Saganowski and Skacel bothered playing to the level they have shown they can play, when they want too, they would both be in the starting line-up every week.
We have a good crop of youngsters who are prepared to give their all for the club, and their team-mates.
Why should we continue to pay them a wage when they are not prepared to put the work in.

As I've said before, we have way too many strikers: Rasiak, John, McGoldrick, BWP, Lallana and Saganowski. It's not a case of "oh no we're selling all our players". The squad is unbalanced, and we need to either sell or send out on loan at least two of them, so this is good news. I know Skacel is on high wages, but I think we should keep him, seeing as the deal fell through. He'd provide competition for Surman at either left back or left midfield, and god knows we're short of full backs.

' the steady progress continues'. We're all entitled to our opinion of course but how can we be making steady progress when we havent actually played a competitive game yet ? if we're midtable or better in december that would be a fair comment , but not before the season's even started.
i'd love this new approach to work but still think its a huge risk to throw so many unproven kids in together. and , assuming several more senior players leave , if putting so many debuttants into the rouugh and tumble of the CCC at the same time just doesnt work, what do we do then? we wont be able to turn to any old pros to steady things because we wont have any ( svensson and perry excepted) . like i said , i'd love this to work, but we didnt actually win any of 5 friendlies against league opposition so dont lets get carried away .

How come every discussion about Saints comes back to Rupert Lowe? No matter what its about it comes back to bashing Lowe. Real fans know that results come from the pitch, not the boardroom. I go everyweek to watch The Saints, not to watch Rupert Lowe. Maybe other people should do the same.

I don't think anyone's getting carried away at this stage.

The Championship is both rough and fickle with a few points moving you a lot of places - at least pre Christmas.

Time for a few tears, no doubt but it really emphasises that this is the Season when every bit of supoort counts to get behind the Team.

I've seen lots and lots of excited, positive posts but I bet every one of them, like you and me, have got that nervous feeling in the pit of their stomach.

Having said that, I'm the most excited I've been since relegation and I'm just going to keep on supporting the Team.

You know you've got to do it!!

David McGoldrick...this is your time ...the team is built around you , now get the goals....i think this is what we were all expecting from Burley, but he never tapped into the youth products like he did at Ipswich and Derby...if we had done this, the season we got relegated, wed still have Bale and Wallcott, and be back in the prem by now...this is the way foward...

I think people are forgetting that these youngsters have played together for a few years, know each others game, and are willing to play for each other. I'd have a great team over a team of individuals any day. Really looking forward to the season opener 3-0 to saints i reckon. COYR

We've already got rid of alot of deadwood & with Viafara & Saga going now, we've saved some money on wages. We should flog Kelvin Davis if we can (as we have Bart & Forecast) & buy a couple of full backs. A left back & a right back are a must! Don't think we should sell either Rasiak or John, or Skacel for that matter as have to score alot of goals in this league to do well & we need them. COYR!
