THESE are the dramatic moments when officers stormed a Hampshire home to discover a horde of drugs, cash and stolen jewellery.

Special police smashed down the front door, searched the building where they uncovered three kilos of cannabis, amphetamine and even a Taser stun gun.

The raid, at Paignton Road in Southampton, led to the arrest of two people at the address and now one of them is starting a three-and-a-half year jail term.

Allan Boggins was jailed after a judge heard him admit offences including the supply of drugs, possessing drugs with intent to supply, unlawfully possessing the stun gun and acquiring criminal property.

Police chiefs say the sentencewill act as stark reminder that drug crime and handling stolen goods will not be tolerated.

Det Insp Simon Baker, from Southampton's Burglary Investigation Team, said: "We have been successful in not only putting behind bars a drug dealer but also in shutting down another avenue of stolen property.

"This resulted from a warrant executed by the Burglary Investigation Team, as part of ongoing inquiries into the handling of stolen goods.

"We would appeal to members of the public to come forward if they know of people who are engaging in this kind of activity.

"They need to contact police or Crimestoppers and we will take this kind of swift action."

Southampton Crown Court heard this week how drugs found at Boggins' house would have yielded a profit of almost £6,000. Police found about £10,300 in cash in the handbag of his girlfriend Carol Fredricks. They also found small amounts of cannabis, amphetamines and about £2,000 in cash.

Fredricks, 41, of Honiton Close, Southampton admitted a range of similar offences but the judge accepted she had played a lesser role and jailed her for a year.

That won't work either. The tax will make the legalised drugs expensive so people will still use the black market.

It is a war that can never be won. Just got to live with it and try to educate young people about the pros and cons in a mature way so that informed choices can be made.

Saying 'Don't do it' doesn't work.

I here what you are saying but Holland is a completely different country...their whole mentality is different to ours. Besides, there is a healthy black market for drugs in Amsterdam despite the legality. Legalising weed doesn't solve the problem of ecstacy, cocaine, heroin, speed etc. If all of the drugs were legalised, my original point would still stand that people will get it cheaper and easier from their dealer. Do you think all these dealers making a living off drugs will just say 'ok, nice while it lasted'?

The alcohol argument you mention is true but have we really educated young people in a mature way? We haven't even educated adults. If you look at country's where binge drinking isn't the culture (France, Spain etc) the parents involve children with drinking at meal times etc and the children develop a healthy and responsible relationship with alcohol.

Therefore, I disagree because what works in one country rarely works in another (especially one likes ours which is a sewer being taken over by chav scum)

contray to belief alcohol is a problem in spain and france, its a problem in every country in the world, and there is a very healthy market in bootleg licquer in this country.it is posable to buy a gall of bootleg whiskey in this country for a tenner,
when the world cup was in holland and belguim it was only belguim that had problems with crowds.
i agree you will not total get rid of black market but it will reduce it a hell of a lot in numbers where most will do it legal.and it will reduce the number of people that take the other drugs, because it be easy to obtain legal drugs and less worry by not getting stop.

with respect, I think you are wrong. People addicted to class A's such as Heroin, Cocaine etc will not change their habits just because something like cannibis is legal. They want/need the high they are accustomed to. You may find a few of the low key dealers who sort out a bit of this and that for their mates disappear but they are not really the ones that are the problem. The people at the top of the chain will have business as usual.

Perhaps will should agree to disagree, nice debate though. It will never happen anyway!

it be the big dealers that would change they be out to protect the porfits that they have all ready made.like what happen in the usa after prohibition.bootlegg
ers becoming legal and start paying tax.
holland has less hard core drugs problem (Heroin, Cocaine etc) than any else in the world.

the object in the plain clothed officers hand is a POLICE FRONT DOOR KEY ,it can get into almost any property.
normally before they use this item they shout "STAND BACK FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR, then BANG !BANG !BANG! & yet all they had to do was knock on the door & wait for the people to answer . lol
fair play ,at least there's another drug dealing scum bag who has been shut down.
GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD JUNKIE RUBBISH !
