MOTORISTS were this morning facing delays on a major Hampshire road following a five-car accident.

The crash happened on the eastbound A31 where the road joins the M27 at junction one shortly after 7.30am.

Police closed the inside lane of the road for about an hour.

A police spokesman warned that motorists could face delays while the vehicles were cleared from the road.

No-one was injured in the collision which involved one car crashing into the central reservation.

So a 5 car accident involves 1 lane of the motorway being closed. For once the echo has got a story on its hands... the police get it right for a change. Now if only they could do this more often.

I think the Cabbage is referring to the way the police commonly close two or more lanes of the motorway after a very minor bump or temporary breakdown, causing chaos that lasts hours after the 'accident' has gone, all in the name of Health and Safety.

Here, there was apparently quite a serious accident, but they only closed one lane while sorting it out. Big improvement!

GORF, I look through the posts on the echo site frequently and one thing is plainly obvious. YOU NEVER have anything positive or kind to say about anyone or anything at anytime. You seem to thrive on creating misery to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Those families and friends who have lost someone or know of someone who is grieving appears to be your target area. The emegency services who do their best in difficult circumstances are also under threat from your vicious and scathing toungue. You are a total fool who should be removed from these posts. FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL READERS I HOPE THE ECHO EDITOR BLOCKS ANY OF YOUR COMMENTS FROM EVER APPEARING ON ANY OF THESE COLUMNS IN THE FUTURE.
