Detectives are appealing for witnesses after three men robbed a shop in Southampton at knifepoint.
The trio walked into the Premier store in Irving Road, Millbrook at around 5.20pm yesterday afternoon.
One of them was brandishing a 10 inch kitchen knife which he held at the teenage shop assistant.
She was serving at the time and the till was open. She backed off when threatened with the knife and the robbers grabbed several hundred pounds from the till and ran from the shop.
The men are all thought to be aged in their late teens or early 20s. They concealed their faces and wore hoodies.
One had on a grey hooded tracksuit, another wore a dark tracksuit with white stripes down the arms and the third wore a grey top with white stripes.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the robbery to contact them. They are asked to call Shirley CID on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

"brandishing a 10 inch kitchen knife"
Available to anyone of any age in any kitchen. Can the Government please do something to remove these weapons from every home. Perhaps the Echo could start one of its campaigns?

Sue wrote: Oh sorry lol, i do apologise. No apology needed. But the pattern is someone does bad, ban what they used, pat them on the head and let them do something nasty with something else. Alternatively the Criminal Justice System could be reshaped to dish out some serious punishment to thieves whether they use a kitchen knife or a wet fish.

Who was in charge at the time of the robbery? Why was there no pick up from the till? The staff will be targeted again as easy pickings unless this is sorted out. It takes two minutes to say to someone I need a pickup done from this till. The member of staff was right to step back. It,s only money and the shop will have insurance, but a life cannot be replaced.
