THE cost of living and new homes are on the agenda of Labour’s candidate to fight for Fareham at the General Election.
Former borough councillor Stuart Rose, pictured right, has been selected as the party’s candidate for next year’s election.
Mr Rose, a resident of the town for the past 30 years, said: “Britain cannot afford another term of Tory-led politics of division between the very rich and the rest of us. All families in Fareham deserve decent, well-paid jobs to provide a good standard of income.”
He said one of his priorities will be pushing for more affordable homes to be built in Fareham, adding: “We need to protect our local green spaces and play areas within the borough and not build on them, so I support the new development of Welborne.
“We are committed to getting 200,000 homes a year built across the country by 2020 and a long- term goal that will see us double the number of first-time buyers within a decade and meet housing need for the first time in 50 years.”
