Witness appeal after robbery attempt

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman fell to the ground during an attempted robbery.
The 52-year-old victim was walking along Barnes Lanes in Milford on Sea when a youth on a bicycle grabbed the strap of her handbag.
A police spokesman said: “He continued cycling, pulling on the bag, but the woman maintained her grip.
“When the cyclist let go the woman fell to the ground, receiving cuts and bruises and breaking the screen of her mobile phone.”
The would-be robber is described as white, aged about 16, and of slim build. He wore a dark coloured hood with the hood up.
The incident occurred last Thursday at 7.20pm. Anyone with information is asked to ring Detective Constable Joanne Boyd at Lyndhurst CID on 101.
